The Saline County Quorum Court is set to meet Monday evening with a short agenda.

Up first will be the third and final ready of an ordinance which, if approved, will see a number of roads added to the county road system. The roads being considered include:

• 167 feet of Marian Cove

• 1,032 feet of extension of Hampton Drive

• 335 feet of Avilla Cove Drive

• 565 felt of extension of

Wingate Drive

• 168 feet of Frederick Cove

The JP’S will also also hear the second of three readings of an ordinance which, if passed after the the third reading in May will also add an additional road to the county road system. The area being considered is 790 feet of Banded Lane.

An ordinance approving a interlocal cooperation agreement between Saline County and the cities of Alexander, Bauxite, Benton, Bryant, Haskell, Shannon Hills and Traskwood authorizing a competitive solicitation for emergency medical services from an emergency medical services provider and entering into an exclusive franchise agreement.

According to the ordinance, the Ambulance Licensing Act authorizes cities of the first and second class and counties to enter into interlock cooperation agreements

and franchise with emergency medical services providers for emergency services.

The above listed cities have determined that it is desirable to enter into the interlock agreement which will allow for a more consistent emergency services response in Saline County and that franchising with an emergency medical services provider will better provide for the health, safety and physical and economic welfare for citizens and residents.

If approved an EMS governing boards will be responsible for issuing a competitive solicitation for

EMS services and assuring that the terms of any EMS franchise agreement are compiled with. The combined franchise are could serve the above mentioned cities along with unincorporated areas of Saline County.
