David Wayne Platt, 68, gained his ultimate healing on July 8, 2021.

He was born in Batesville, on Aug. 17, 1952, to the late Elmer Augustus Sr. and Joann Reaves Platt. He was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Steve Platt and Gus Platt; and sister, Peggy Platt.

David is survived by the love of his life and wife of 46 years, Pam Langston Platt; and brothers, Eddie Platt, Charles Platt and John (Debbie) Davidson Jr.

David was a graduate of Henderson State University with a degree in music. His career was spent as a dedicated and highly successful music teacher and minister of music. His love for music started at a young age, playing the piano and singing with the Platt Brothers Quartet, and continued throughout his life as he faithfully used his talents in service to the Lord. His love of the Lord and music touched countless lives, teaching and leading in Arkansas and Texas.

The memorial service, conducted by Ashby Funeral Home, will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 12, at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with Aaron Polk and Jerry Brown officiatin­g. Burial will be at 12:30 p.m. at Price Cemetery on Hwy 270, Hot Springs. Visitation will be at Ashby Funeral Home 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. on Sunday.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Mission: Dignity of the SBC or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
