Jimmie E. Leach, 83, of Benton, Arkansas, went to be with his Lord March 11, 2022. He was born February 10, 1939 in Conehatta, Mississipp­i, to the late Alton and Lillian (Cater) Leach.

Jimmie was a member of First Baptist Church in Benton. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfathe­r. Jimmie loved his family and looked forwards to family get-togethers. Hiking in the mountains was Jimmie’s favorite place to be. In his spare time, Jimmie enjoyed gardening his plants and flower beds. Jimmie collected duck decoys and collectibl­es.

Preceding Jimmie in death are his parents, Alton and Lillian Leach; and sister, Elsie Jeanette Jones.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife of 59 years, Carolyn Leach of Benton, Arkansas; two sons: Steven Leach and wife Sylvia of Sherwood, Arkansas and Phillip Leach and wife Jan of Benton, Arkansas; grandchild­ren: Ashton Leach, Nikki Johnson, Bryson Spivey, Ciara Bowen, and Laina Bowen; great-grandchild­ren: Kellen Johnson and Wren Bowen; two brothers: Doyle Leach and wife Pam of Lake, Mississipp­i and Glenn Cater and wife Melinda of Conehatta, Mississipp­i; sister, Carnell Miller of Houston, Texas; and many family members and friends who love Jimmie and will miss him always.

Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at Smith-benton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, at Smith-benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market Street, Benton, Arkansas. Burial following at Rosemont Cemetery in Benton.

Memorials may be made to Prostate Cancer Foundation, Wounded Warrior, or to the Salvation Army.
