The Bryant Boys & Girls Clubs gathered its supporters to honor them during the Hometown Hero Lunch on Friday.

RJ Hawk, David Bazzel and Country music star Justin Moore, the hosts of Morning Mayhem on 103.7 The Buzz, talked to the crowd about the Clubs and giving back.

“It takes a great community to make a Boys & Girls Club,” Bazzel said.

Hawk started off by praising the staff and Club director for the work they do.

Bazzel and Moore encouraged the community to collaborate and think outside of the box to support the Clubs and make a difference.

Hawk asked Moore about returning to Arkansas and giving back.

Moore said he sees central Arkansas as a very special place.

He said people always ask him and his wife to do things for charity, but he wants to focus on giving back in his own community.

“If people need help, we are going to start here,” he said.

Hawk talked about the importance of the Clubs for keeping children active and being a place where they can be fed and get good influences.

Bazzel said with the world as it is, the Clubs are even more important. A young fan, Weston Clement, 9, asked Moore to sign a guitar and then sing for the crowd. He sang his hit “Small Town USA.”

After the three spoke, the Clubs gave out awards for the community.

Bryant Police Department won the Volunteer of the Year Award.

The impact award winners were Therpeds, Ethan and Natalie Passmore, Scott Curtis and Big Red Stores. The Hometown Hero Awards went to Jonathan Martin, of Bryant Family Pharmacy, Guy Parker and Chick-fil-a on Reynolds Road, Chris and Adele Holmes, Farmers Bank and Trust and the Bryant School District.
