Young Players hold auditions for 'High School Musical Jr.'

The Young Players Auditions for "High School Musical Jr." will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 8 and May 9.

Auditions are open to current fourth through graders and will be held at Birch Tree Communities Inc., 1506 Mary Kay Blvd., 72015.

The show dates are July 14-17, 2022. No conflicts allowed during tech week or show dates.

A synopsis for the musical says it is based on the Disney Chanel Original Movie "High School Musical."

"Disney’s High School Musical JR centers on the blossoming relationship between Troy, a high school jock, and Gabriella, the new smart girl at school," the synopsis reads. "They meet on a family vacation and become attracted to each other while singing in a karaoke competition. Rediscovering each other at school, their relationship and their surprise decision to audition together for the school show are thwarted by the school’s current leading lady, Sharpay, and Troy and Gabriella’s well-meaning friends.
