Why did you pursue the position you are running for?

Growing up in Saline County, as well as having spent my entire career in Saline County Government, is what most influenced my decision to run for Saline County Treasurer. I love Saline County and I truly enjoy being a public servant. My experience, knowledge and dedication to excellent public service is what our citizens deserve and what they will continue to receive when I am elected Treasurer. Receiving the support and endorsement of retiring Treasurer Larry Davis, has been a major factor in my decision as well.

What prior experience do you have that is applicable to this position? How do you plan to use this experience?

My 25 years of public service working for Saline County Government has given me experience to be your next Treasurer. I have held the position of Chief Deputy Circuit Clerk since 2002, under the last three Circuit Clerks. In my role as Chief Deputy, I manage our six county budgets as well as the daily operations of the office. I have been fortunate enough to work with other elected officials and offices within the county. I plan to take this knowledge and use it to lead the Treasurer’s Office efficiently and effectively.

What plans do you have to improve Saline County/ your district?

I look forward to improving, even further, the policies put in place by Larry Davis. I intend to retain the current staff and their positions, to ensure a smooth and successful transition. I will coordinate with school districts, fire departments, and other entities, to set up ACH direct deposit of their monthly disbursements. Additionally, I will upload monthly revenue and disbursement reports to the Saline County Treasurer website as a way to promote transparency of our county funds.

Why should you get the people’s vote/ What makes you a better choice than your opponent?

Having worked in county government for 25 years, I have first hand knowledge and understanding of county operations. I am trusted, dedicated and experienced. My experience and professionalism will keep the Treasurer’s office fiscally responsible; continuing to operate at the high quality standard our citizens deserve.
