The Saline Courier Weekend

Name: Why did you pursue the position you are running for?

-

Michael Hardester

I have always had a passion for serving others. After serving the majority of my adult life as a police officer, serving as Constable would allow me to continue serving and giving back to my community.

What prior experience do you have that is applicable to this position? How do you plan to use this experience?

In my 25 years of law enforcement experience, to include serving as Haskell Chief of Police, I have served on many committees, teams and projects, including Drug Task Force Group 6 and Saline County Narcotics. I have been involved in multiple investigations and arrests in drug and gang related cases. These experiences have prepared me for any challenges I am to face in this position and have provided me with the

background knowledge to assist my community in areas of concern or need.

What plans do you have to improve Saline County/ your district?

I will use my position as Constable to serve as a liaison to foster professional relationships between law enforcement and the community. I will also ensure that the public is represented appropriately and justly.

Why should you get the people’s vote/ What makes you a better choice than your opponent?

I believe with my extensive background knowledge and experience that I am the right candidate to serve Township 1 as Constable. The people of Saline County should be afforded the peace of mind that they have access to a voice. I strongly believe in this country’s Constitution and all that it stands for. I believe in the 2nd Amendment and will fight to protect those rights for the people of Saline County. I will serve as the voice of Saline County residents when dealing with law enforcement or law enforcement issues.
