Veteran, motivational speaker Mills to be featured at Chamber banquet
Motivational speaker and Army veteran Travis Mills will be the featured speaker at the Benton Area Chamber of Commerce banquet on March 14.
Mills, a retired United States Army staff sergeant of the
82nd Airborne, is a motivational speaker, actor, author and an advocate for veterans and amputees. Mills lost portions of both arms and legs from an IED while on his third tour in Afghanistan. He is one of only five quadruple amputees from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to survive his injuries. Mills lives by the motto, “Never give up. Never quit.”
He and his wife, Kelsey, founded the Travis Mills Foundation, a nonprofit organization, formed to benefit and assist post 9/11 veterans who have been injured in active duty or as a result of their service to our nation.
The veteran and their families receive an all-inclusive, all expenses paid, barrier-free vacation to Maine where they participate in adaptive activities, bond with other veteran families and enjoy much-needed rest and relaxation.
The Chamber event will begin at 6 p.m. in the Benton Event Center, 17322 I-30 North.
Tables for 10 can be purchased for $750 and individual tickets are $80. (Tables are placed in the order they are purchased.)
Sponsors of the 2023 banquet are Jones Heating and Air, First Security Bank, Everett Buick GMC, Ashley Homestore, Baxley-penfield-moudy Realtors, CDI Contractors, LLC, Mccauley Services, P.
