Sharon Extension Homemakers Club meet at fairground­s

Sharon Extension Homemakers Club met February 16 at the Saline County Fairground­s.

In attendance were 11 members. Hostesses for the month were Karen Mitchell and Beverly Garrett.

The meeting was opened by members reciting the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag.

Patsy Wagner, President, conducted the business session.

Thought for the month: Wrinkles mean you laughed, gray hair means you cared, and scars mean you lived. Devotion was presented by Lisa Mitchell. Bible verse was Matthew 6:8.

Roll call was answered by members telling their favorite musical artist. Janette Rao, presented the program on depression and anxiety.

Volunteer hours for the month totaled 194.

101 sewing met February 15. February 23 was a Food’s Menu Planning meeting.

Fair Judging School will take place March 7. Spring Education Workshop will be March 8. Both events will meet at the Windham in North Little Rock.

Saline County EHC will host a one day Spring Bazaar April 15 from 8

- 5 at the Saline County Fairground­s. Eye openers were presented by the following members: Beverly Garrett, 2 large labels that were made for the Quilt of Valors, Marylyn Rowland, a jumper she created for her nephew, Patsy Wagner showed a plate which was decorated with a paper cup and lace.

A tea bag was inside with a label “You’re my cup of tea.” It was made by Payton Johnson and given to the members of Sharon Baptist Church Widows ministry.

Lucille Bagley mentioned that the teenage girls at Sharon decorated a cup for all who attended. The meeting was adjourned.

After noon day grace, a pot luck luncheon was served, followed by a game of bingo. The next meeting will take place March 16 at the Saline County Fairground­s. Hostesses will be Lucille Bagley and Patsy Wagner.
