Jennifer Nettles hosts “Farmer Wants a Wife” Wednesday on Fox.

Salt SYFY 7 p.m.

When Evelyn Salt (Angelina Jolie) became a CIA officer, she swore an oath to duty, honor and country. But, when a defector accuses her of being a Russian spy, Salt’s oath is put to the test. Now a fugitive, Salt must use every skill gained from years of training and experience to evade capture, but the more she tries to prove her innocence, the more guilty she seems.

The French Connection TCM 7 p.m.

Five Oscars, including best picture, best director (William Friedkin) and best actor (Gene Hackman), went to this high-octane (and largely factbased) 1971 police drama in which narcotics officer “Popeye” Doyle (Hackman) and his partner (Roy Scheider) take on a drug ring shipping heroin into the United States. The film includes one of the most memorable pursuit sequences in screen history.

Farmer Wants a Wife KLRT (16) 8 p.m.

This new reality series connects four hunky, hoe-bearing men with a group of unattached women who haven’t had any luck finding a mate in the big city. They’ll learn what it’s like to live and work on a real farm while hoping to find a love connection with one of the handsome farmers. Jennifer Nettles hosts.

1000-Lb. Best Friends TLC 9 p.m.

Sometimes not showing up is the right decision — and sometimes it’s not.
