Diane Conger

-

Diane Conger, of Haskell, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024, surrounded by several family that she dearly loved. She let go after hearing her Mom say, “Momma is here.”

Diane was born on Aug. 12, 1953, in Benton. Growing up, she loved spending time on Cash Mountain, her mother’s family farm, with the massive Cash family, playing in the barn and swinging on the tire swing.

In high school, she met her husband, David Conger. They married Nov. 14, 1969. Soon after getting married, David and Diane started building their family. In their 54 years together, she was devoted to them, and being with them made her happiest.

Every summer was spent camping at the lake, where she enjoyed grilling, relaxing on the boat or floating on a raft, and fishing. Holidays were her favorite. She loved decorating, cooking and a house full of family. During Christmas, she displayed her beloved Department 56 village collection all over the house. Her Christmas trees were always perfectly and beautifully decorated. It was a talent she perfected working at Cherry’s Hallmark for more than 20 years.

Diane is survived by her husband, David, and their five kids, April, Shelly, David, Russ and Skyla, as well as 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who affectionally called her “Gran.” She is also survived by her mother, Cathy, and brothers James, Ronnie and Brad.

She is preceded in death by her father, Royce, and sisters Sharon and Theresa.

She will live in our hearts always.

Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, at Ashby Funeral Home with services beginning at 2 p.m.
