FLOWERS AND FUNNY VALENTINES
The Christmas sales soon fade with time
And stores are dressed with Valentines
With hearts and candy down each aisle
To bring in winter a soft smile As are stuffed figures so inclined To be a funny Valentine.
Also, the flowers are about, Valentine’s Day; leaves them not out
To softly, gently warn each heart And do their February part.
Now if you can take the time To smile as a funny Valentine, You might find on a winter day Some of the chill will melt away. — Howard Nobles

LOVE LINES
Today is Valentine’s Day True love’s holy shrine A forum for poets
To pen some love lines
So with pen in hand
And you on my mind
I choose words that will stand The test of time
Words that won’t fade
Like roses on the vine
And memories that were made By candlelight and wine
Words bound to ring true When the Lord calls me home When the words, “I love you”
Are chiseled in stone. — Mike Pafundi Deceased
A MOMENT WE SHARED
My thoughts run wild tonight— Others should be uppermost in my mind; but old memories of you stampede through my brain. My heart sorts out each treasured memory of our shared times, and my lonely world is brightened once more by a moment we shared.

LOVE
What is life all about? A soft whisper or a shout?
What is life all about?
Is it a cool breeze upon your face?
Or a hot burning sun as you run your race?
What is life all about? It’s the magic of love without a doubt.

ROMEO
Love is in the air Blooms soon to come. Pretty blue sky
Sun shining brightly My heart is a flutter,
But what do I utter?
My Romeo has not appeared yet. When the time is right,
Jesus will send him.
Until then, I will be content. Better to wait and be right,
Than be paired and wrong. —Anita Burkett

THE COLOR YOU SMILED LAST NIGHT
We walked in dreams last night where rhythms wrapped each word you spoke with tinsel glow.
Each cushioned whisper
lay against the silence like a morning wrapped in fog. We sat beneath the hilltop stars and talked tomorrow-talk, cemented dreams with kisses,
then waited for today.
In the magic of your whispers, I saw the color of your smile and knew at once our love would last
beyond that last recorded sunset.
