OBITUARIES Lynn C. Lewis

Lynn C. Lewis, age 69, of Benton, passed away on Monday, Feb. 19, 2024. She was born Oct. 23, 1954, in Little Rock.

Lynn was an avid reader, and enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She was preceded in death by her Father and Mother, Hulon G. and E. Virginia Lewis.

Lynn is survived by her sister, Virginia Dale Skinner; brother-in-law, Curtis Skinner; her son, T J Lewis; daughter-in-law, Catherine Lewis; grandchild­ren, Logan and Julia Lewis. Nieces Laura Pardue (Jerry), Chanda Skinner; great-nieces and nephews, Abby Croft (Connor), Hannah Skinner, Garrett Witherspoo­n, and Grant Pardue.

A memorial service celebratin­g Lynn will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. On Tuesday, Feb. 27, at Ashby Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made in Lynn’s memory to the Saline County Library.

Edwin Marion Wilson

Edwin “Eddie” Marion Wilson was born in Searcy, on Sept. 15, 1950. He passed away on Feb. 21, 2024.

Eddie served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy and was recognized for his service with the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Bronze Star.

Outside of his military commitment­s, Eddie had a passion for fishing and tending to his cows. He cherished his role as a family man and found immense joy in the company of his grandchild­ren.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Wilson and Katie (Minyard) Wilson; and his brother, Johnnie Wilson.

He is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Melody Wilson; and their children, Shannon Mccutcheon, Alvin Wilson (Kaede), Shawna Lawhon, and Janet Jackman (Michael). Eddie’s legacy lives on through his grandchild­ren, Nick Mccutcheon (Dana), Tyler

Wilson (Megan), Elizabeth Simpson (Hayden), Madison Lawhon, Reagan Lawhon, Abbey Guttery, and Liddy Guttery. Additional­ly, he is survived by great-grandchild­ren Brynley, Brayleigh, Ryder Wilson, Everleigh Simpson, and Braxton Simpson; sisters, Donna (Rob) Darter and Leoda (Ronnie) Mullins; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will all carry fond memories of him in their hearts.

Eddie’s life was characteri­zed by dedication to both his country and his loved ones. His kindness, love for family, and commitment to service will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service with Navy honors will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, at Smith-benton Funeral Home, 322 N. Market St., Benton.
