Ben Johnson hits gamewinnin­g 3-pointer at the buzzer as Bellarmine beats Central Arkansas 68-65

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Peter Suder scored 20 points and Ben Johnson made a go-ahead 3-pointer at the buzzer to give Bellarmine a 68-65 victory over Central Arkansas on Thursday night.

Johnson used a shot fake to get his defender in the air and he sank an off-balance 3-pointer for the win.

It was his fourth 3-pointer of the game to finish with 14 points.

Suder also had three steals for the Knights (7-21, 3-10 Atlantic Sun Conference). Bash Wieland had 14 points and finished 6 of 10 from the floor.

Tucker Anderson finished with 24 points for the Bears (9-21, 5-9). Elias Cato added 12 points and seven rebounds for Central Arkansas. In addition, Masai Olowokere finished with 10 points.

Little Rock defeats

Southeast Missouri State 83-61

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. — Jamir Chaplin’s 19 points helped Little Rock defeat Southeast Missouri State 83-61 on Thursday night.

Chaplin added 11 rebounds for the Trojans (17-11, 11-4 Ohio Valley Conference). Makhel Mitchell scored 17 points and added 10 rebounds. Khalen Robinson had 15 points and was 6 of 12 shooting (3 for 5 from 3-point range). It was the sixth straight win for the Trojans.

The Redhawks (8-20, 3-12) were led by Josh Earley, who recorded 18 points and six rebounds. Southeast Missouri State also got 10 points and two steals from Marqueas Bell. In addition, Braxton Stacker finished with nine points.

Arkansas State defeats Troy 79-71

JONESBORO — Taryn Todd had 17 points in Arkansas State’s 79-71 victory over Troy on Thursday night.

Todd also had six rebounds for the Red Wolves (14-14, 9-6 Sun Belt Conference). Freddy Hicks scored 14 points while shooting 3 of 7 from the field and 8 for 10 from the line, and added 12 rebounds and four blocks. Izaiyah Nelson finished with 13 points.

The Trojans (18-10, 11-4) were led in scoring by Victor Valdes and Tayton Conerway, who each finished with 16 points. Aamer Muhammad had 14 points and three steals. .from
