March 9

The 7th Annual Dale Mize Wild Game Dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, March 9, at Benton First United Methodist Church.

The 49th annual Greater Bryant Chamber of Commerce Banquet will honor this year’s Community Impact Award winners David Hendrix Sr. and Doug Hendrix. The Chamber banquet will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday in the Bryant High School Fine Arts Center. Individual tickets for mixer and celebration are $80 and host sponsorships for the mixer and celebration are

$600 and include eight tickets. Tickets may be purchased on the Chamber website, Bryantchamber.com, under the event tabs.

The 65th Annual Rural Life Conference is set for Friday, March 15, at the Pine Bluff Convention Center, One Convention Center Plaza in Pine Bluff. The conference begins with registration at 7:30 a.m. and the opening session at 8:30 a.m. The program concludes at 4 p.m.

This year’s conference theme

is “Legacy Opportunities for Community Service and Outreach – Connecting, Collaboration and Commitment.” Sponsored by the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff (UAPB) School of Agriculture, Fisheries and Human Sciences, the conference includes over 20 workshops, as well as a poster session highlighting research projects and exhibits by governmental and community agencies. Central Arkansas Development Council will distribute USDA Commodities in Saline

County beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, March 20, and Thursday, March 21. In Saline County, Commodities will be distributed at the Benton Senior Activity Center, 1800 Citizens Drive, Phone: 501-315-0645. Food Items May Include UHT Milk, Applesauce, Spinach, Vegetable Soup, Diced Tomatoes, Almonds, Walnuts, Rice, Beef Stew, Salmon, Pitted Cherries. Must meet income guidelines. All customers receiving commodities must present identification. Photo ID Preferred.
