He’s not singing the blues

-

ROBERT JOHNSON IS NAMED after one of the greatest blues singers and musicians of all time. He was given that name because he can be a vocal guy when he first meets you. But his “singing” — a froggy bark — isn’t what he’s best known for. Ever since a generous donor sent him a wheelchair, Robert has been fast. Really fast. That’s why he’s recognized all over the Sanctuary.

The adorable Chihuahua came to the Sanctuary from a Best Friends Network partner shelter in Arizona. No one knows exactly how Robert became paralyzed, except that he suffered some previous trauma to his back. But one thing was clear: The active little dude needed some help getting moving again. While he could use his front legs to pull himself forward, that meant dragging his back legs on the ground. And that was — you guessed it — kind of a drag for the determined pup.

The wheelchair was just the thing Robert needed to get rolling. He got accustomed to it in no time and started speeding around the Sanctuary. In fact, Robert Johnson zoomed his way right into a new home. This guy is singing the blues no more.
