Best Friends

So happy together

-

EMMA AND HASTINGS WERE meant to be together. They’d been living in an overcrowded house (and when we say overcrowded, we mean it), but even with about 100 other cats there, they found each other and became friends. After all the cats were rescued, the duo came to the Sanctuary. And within a few months, they found a new home — together.

When they arrived at Best Friends, the two-yearold cats spent some time at Cat World, home for the Sanctuary’s many felines, where they received all the medical care and TLC they needed. Both cats have feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV), which weakens a cat’s immune system, and they needed treatment for some minor illnesses.

While they recovered, Emma and Hastings liked hanging out with cats and people alike, but they were especially drawn to one another. Cat World caregivers who watched their sweet interactions hoped the pair would get adopted together. But they had no idea if that would happen — until Carol and Loren Evers came along. The cat-loving couple met Emma and Hastings during one of their many volunteer trips to the Sanctuary and, quite simply, fell in love with them.

Now, Emma and Hastings have settled happily into their new life in Minnesota. They’re finally learning what it’s like to have a home where there is plenty of attention to go around. And, best of all, they’re doing it together.
