Shy and shaggy no more

-

POOR STEPHANIE CAME to the Sanctuary with her shaggy fur so terribly matted that she was whisked off to the grooming room on her first day at Dogtown. She had been living in an unfinished garage at her previous home, so her social skills were about as shabby as her fur. When she felt overwhelmed by the people or dogs around her, she would run and hide behind the first thing she could find. Her caregivers even found her peeking out from behind a mop bucket a few times.

This sweet, curious girl didn’t stay in hiding for long, though. After a second trip to the spa (otherwise known as the grooming room), which included a soothing bath and a neat trim, Stephanie looked and clearly felt like a whole new dog. (Who wouldn’t?) And, as her caregivers and new dog friends showed her how to cuddle and to play, she started acting like a whole new dog, too. So, what was the next step for Stephanie? To be whisked off to a wonderful new home, of course.
