Handsome Ansem
AT CAT WORLD, this stunning Siamese is known as Handsome Ansem. But he came to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary with the reputation that his beauty was only skin-deep.
Five-year-old Ansem arrived at the Sanctuary as a result of having bitten people and displaying other signs of aggression in his previous home. There, he’d spent a lot of time confined and was mainly used for breeding. He didn’t get much, if any, one-on-one time with people. It’s no wonder he was so ornery.
At Best Friends, he was neutered and moved into a large room with the freedom to go outside in a screened-in area (otherwise known as a cattery) whenever he likes. Cat World caregivers took the time to get to know him and help him feel safe. Now that Ansem trusts several of his caregivers, he’ll climb up onto their laps and give them happy head butts and kisses. And, as he expands his circle of friends, he’s proving that behind that handsome face is a very loving heart.
