A few more tips
Keep each session short (about five minutes) and don’t try to do too much in any one session. If the dog is doing well, it’s tempting to move through the steps very quickly. But sometimes that results in backsliding.
If your dog breaks his wait a lot or is struggling, simply go back to “kindergarten” and think about what you can change to set him up for success. Keep in mind that you will have better results if you refrain from scolding and just focus on having fun. Because who doesn’t love a little bit of fun?
