Sweet as sugar
“HEY, DOES MY hair look OK?” It’s 6:30 p.m. and Sage and Lily, two sugar gliders (a type of gliding possum named for their preference for sweet foods like sap and nectar) at the Sanctuary, are just opening their eyes to start their “day.” Since they’re nocturnal — and surprisingly acrobatic — they’ll crawl out of their cozy fleece sleeping pouch and spend the night swinging from the ceiling of their threetiered enclosure. That is, just as soon as Lily adjusts her tail fur and follows the snow-white Sage out to greet the evening. Good morning, sweeties!
