Shhh! Quiet in the library
YOU MIGHT EXPECT A LITTER of eight hound puppies to drown out any other sounds in the vicinity with their howls, but these gentle souls — surprisingly — are perhaps the quietest bunch at puppy preschool. Like inventory in an amply stocked library, these silent sweeties are named after popular authors — Shakespeare, Hemingway, Angelou, Fitzgerald, Rowling, Austen, Steinbeck and Capote. With their big floppy ears, they appear to be ready to listen in on a good story.
In the meantime, they are studying hard, mastering the art of making puppy-dog eyes and being good little belly-rub recipients. Soon they’ll be ready to be checked out permanently (we just can’t seem to drop the library theme) and find their forever homes.
