May will always have a big personality, and that’s one of the things her new people like about her.

The feisty kitty settled right in at Diane’s house, which includes three other cats and a dog. At home, Diane got to see another side of May. She relaxed, and her tendency to bite disappeared. It wasn’t long before something really exciting happened: an adoption inquiry.

So, Diane (and May) had a video chat with the couple interested in adopting her. As May’s biggest fan and now her foster mom, Diane knew her better than anyone. The couple explained that they wanted to help a cat who’d been waiting a long time for a home, and after Diane shared the many photos and videos she had taken of May, they made their decision. They already loved May and wanted to bring her — and her exercise wheel — home.

May has settled into her new home beautifully. Her adopter, Eileen Rico, says, “She’s been a perfect ‘co-worker’ during this period of quarantine and has made a couple of guest appearances on our video conference calls.” May works out on her wheel every morning at 6 a.m., putting the couple’s own fitness goals to shame.

She’ll always have a big personality, and that’s one of the things her new people like about her. Even though Diane misses her sassy friend, she says, “May’s new family is a perfect match for her, and I am absolutely elated about it. It took a global pandemic, but May finally got the home she’s been waiting for.”
