Seeing an opportunity to help pets in shelters get to their new homes, Erica created a transport program called Delta Animal Rescue Transport (DART). One of the dogs she helped was Odie, a tiny terrier who had some behavioral challenges that made it hard for him to find the right home. When his perfect family came forward and wanted to adopt him, the only problem was that they were in Atlanta and he was in Salt Lake City. Erica flew from Detroit to Salt Lake City after work so she could give him a lift.
