Little dog in the big city
LONDON TAKES A BITE OUT OF THE BIG APPLE
London may only weigh 16 pounds, but don’t tell her that. There’s a big personality hiding in that little body. She’s a ball of endless energy and curiosity.
When she came to Best Friends in New York with a broken leg, though, London faced what was probably the biggest challenge in her three-year-old life. It wasn’t the major surgery she endured to remove her back leg, which vets couldn’t repair. Nope, it was that dreadful period after the surgery, when she needed to rest. And let’s not even talk about the cone that prevented her from doing what she most wanted to do — tear out those itchy stitches.
Luckily, London had Morgan Roche, her dedicated foster caregiver, to keep her entertained with all the toys her heart desired, not to mention taking her on slow walks around the neighborhood. It made life during the recovery phase not only bearable, but even fun.
Best of all? Morgan wasn’t her foster caregiver for long. That’s because Morgan adopted her. If you’re wondering whether London is happy today, well, we’re pretty sure that if she could sing, we’d hear something like this: “If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere.” Hey, London, the Big Apple looks good on you.
She’s a ball of endless energy and curiosity.
