Going up?

FROM STRANDED IN AN ELEVATOR SHAFT TO FINDING A NEW HOME

-

Hank was up to his neck in freezing water at the bottom of an elevator shaft in an abandoned building when someone heard his cries and called Abilene Animal Services for help. An animal control officer responded and when he arrived, he jumped down into the water to rescue the shivering dog. He brought Hank to the shelter, where the team worked quickly to get him warm and dry using towels and a hair dryer. Luckily, he was otherwise OK.

About a week later, Hank was better than OK, because he had been adopted. And his new mom just happens to be a trauma counselor with a soft spot for pets who have been through difficult times. Things are definitely looking up for the dog who was “going up.”
