You know that our goal at Best Friends is to end the killing of dogs and cats in America’s shelters by 2025. The goal is simple, but mapping out how to get there was impossible until we had the pet lifesaving dashboard. A map of all the animal shelters in the country, the dashboard clearly shows which shelters need the most help. Without it, reaching no-kill nationwide by 2025 would be a hazy dream.

To say it’s a game changer is an understatement: The dashboard is playing a key role in saving pets’ lives. We’re excited about it, but recently it was acknowledged by one of the world’s top voices in disruption, innovation and business leadership. Fast Company named Best Friends one of the 10 most innovative companies in data science this year because of this lifesaving tool.
