GRILLED OKRA AND TOMA­TOES

11/2 lb. fresh okra

1 lb. cherry toma­toes

1/4 cup ex­tra vir­gin olive oil

12 cloves gar­lic, chopped

1 cup may­on­naise

2 Tbsp. bal­samic vine­gar

1/2 Tbsp. lemon juice

Wal­nut halves, toasted (op­tional)

1. In a large bowl com­bine okra, toma­toes, oil, gar­lic, 1/2 tsp. salt, and 1/4 tsp. black pep­per; toss to coat. Trans­fer okra and toma­toes to a grill rack or grill bas­ket. Grill, cov­ered, over high heat. Grill 1 to 2 min­utes for toma­toes and 3 min­utes for okra or un­til charred and okra is crisp­ten­der, turn­ing oc­ca­sion­ally.

2. For bal­samic aioli whisk to­gether may­on­naise, vine­gar, and lemon juice. Trans­fer okra and toma­toes to a serv­ing plat­ter. Serve with bal­samic aioli and top with wal­nuts, if de­sired. Makes 10 serv­ings.
