WHAT IS HAPTIC LAB?

”The word haptic means relating to the sense of touch. When my mother began losing her sight, I realized how the visual sense can be valued above others. So at Haptic Lab, we create products that look great but also appeal to a broader sensory experience.”

WHY KITES?

“I love how holding the tether as it rises gives the sensation of flight. It’s such a thrilling experience.

And designing anything to fly is a challenge that I find very interesting.”

HOW DID YOU GET STARTED?

“After working as an architect in NYC, I entered a kitemaking competition in 2009 and won second place.”

WHAT ELSE DO YOU MAKE?

”We’re also known for our quilts.” The modern hand-stitched quilts are like soft maps of major cities, coastlines, and constellations.
