TULA

Brooklyn

Better Homes & Gardens - - Fresh -

Under a greenhouse roof retrofitted onto a 1987 box truck, plants stay dewy on Brooklyn’s streets. Tulita—the mobile shop of plant-design brand Tula—frequents local markets, coaxing city dwellers inside where it’s so lush that it gives new meaning to “concrete jungle.”

For owners Christan Summers and Ivan Martinez, a big draw to having the shop in a truck is the intimacy. “Unlike in big stores where you feel weird approaching anyone, the tight space drops your guard,” Ivan says. After a few questions (like which way your windows face at home and if you keep the AC on), the two will help you pick out a plant from the leafy throngs that, they assure you, you can keep alive. tula.house
