HOW CAN I GET RID OF THE MILDEW SMELL IN MY FRONTLOAD WASHER?

Better Homes & Gardens - - Home / Know-how - STEP ONE

Use a towel to dry inside the gasket (the rubber rim around the opening). Spray it with a solution of bleach and water,

and scrub with an old toothbrush. Wipe away residue and any remaining bleach with a rag.

STEP TWO

Fill the detergent dispenser with white

vinegar and run the hottest cycle with

the washer empty.

STEP THREE

Keep the mildew from coming back by drying the gasket and leaving the door open after each load. Repeat vinegar wash monthly as needed.
