In hot tea, the naturally occurring

tannins stay suspended. When chilled, tannins may settle out, causing cloudy tea. Here’s how

to avoid that.

Don’t let the water reach boiling temp, which extracts more

tannins from tea.

Let your tea stand at room temp before

chilling. Cooling tea too quickly makes the tannins settle out.

The fix: Stir a small amount of hot (not boiling) water into

cloudy tea.
