The Biology of Beauty
“I wanted a product that could provide relief to my dry hair without weighing it down.” DALE BELOFF
Dale Beloff’s life-saving work as a nurse is so important to her, but it can mean less time for self-care. Once she turned 50, the mother-in-law of Better Homes & Gardens’ Beauty and Fashion Director, Erica Metzger, started experiencing changes to her hair that made it difficult to manage on top of her busy lifestyle. Here, she describes how Hair Biology helped her to restore confidence in her strands at 65.
Working in medicine has taught me that it’s tough to argue with biology. Like the rest of our bodies, hair changes as we get older—but that doesn’t mean solutions for common issues like dryness should be out of reach. I was excited to learn about the line of products by Hair Biology, which addresses the very real issues of women my age.
I was in my 50s when I noticed that my naturally fine hair had become dry, wiry, and difficult to control. I had to use a lot of hair spray to style it, which made my scalp itchy and increased the dryness of my hair. Dealing with the discomfort was a nuisance—especially at work, where patients require my undivided attention. Finally, in my 60s, I turned to Hair Biology for help.
After shampooing, I applied the Deep Hydration Mask to my hair and let it sit for two minutes. Infused with biotin to support healthy growth, the color-safe mask left my hair feeling soft and moisturized. Next, I applied Hair Biology’s Argan Oil Taming Serum to my damp strands to protect them from heat damage during styling. I was incredibly pleased by how shiny and smooth my hair felt after blow-drying. Once I experienced the difference Hair Biology products can make, I knew I would have many good hair days ahead.
