Turmeric, Cayenne, and Lemon Shot

This sim­ple shot clears the fog of a hang­over, re­lieves pain, and sup­plies your liver with the nu­tri­ents it needs to detox­ify your blood. Avoid if you have gas­troe­sophageal re­flux dis­ease ( GERD) or are tak­ing blood thin­ners. Recipe ex­cerpted from The Sim­ple Guide to

Nat­u­ral Health by Melanie St. Ours 1 clove gar­lic, peeled ½ tsp. Turmeric Paste ( see recipe be­low) Juice of 1 lemon ⅛ tsp. cayenne pep­per 1 Tbs. ap­ple cider vine­gar 1 knob fresh gin­ger root, peeled and sliced 1. Com­bine all in­gre­di­ents in high- speed blender. Blend on high 1– 2 min­utes, un­til smooth. If your blender is too large to ef­fec­tively blend this small vol­ume of in­gre­di­ents, dou­ble the recipe or add ½ cup wa­ter to di­lute. 2. Pour into shot glass, and drink im­me­di­ately. It will be sour, strong, and spicy! Fol­low with plenty of wa­ter.
