Dance Lab bringing another level
Dance Lab busted onto the scene Jan. 1, 2019, as a brand new venture into the world of dance, cheerleading, and tumbling for Howard County. With summer heating up, the new business is also warming up to a new season full of opportunities for the local youth.
Instruction in the areas of dance, cheer, and tumbling can be found by those entering Dance Lab. There are a few local options for those wanting to enter into the world of dance, cheer, and tumbline. While some enter into these activities for fun, there are also opportunities to further one's training into future opportunitiess.
For example, the Howard College Cheerleaders, who will train at Dance Lab this year, receive scholarships towards their college education. The instructors at Dance Lab went to college on scholarships for cheer and/or dance.
Locals can get a glimpse of what Dance Lab has to offer during the opening ceremonies for Fantastic Fourth this year, as both cheer and dance classes will be performing. The community is encouraged to cheer on the kids.
Cheerleading competition season kicks off in August, and teams will be put together in June. All cheerleaders will have to tryout and have skills assessed before being accepted onto a team. To set up a time, contact Head Coach Keelee Allen at keeee_05@hotmail.com.
New athletes are encouraged to join this year, as well as in any of the classes offered. Registration for fall will open up at the end of July, and that info can be found on our facebook page as well, along with information about staff and coaches.
Dance Lab staff is compromised of Owner and Dance Instructor Jessica Rutledge, Head Cheerleading Coach Keelee Allen, Head Tumbling Coach Cheridan Fulgham, and Assistants Megan Wilson and Walker Hardgrove.
Information on classes and cheer groups can be found on the Dance Lab in Big Spring, TX Facebook Page, and inquiries can be emailed to dancelab19@ gmail.com.
