Mr. and Mrs. Phinney

Richard H. Phinney married Jeffie Lee Gore in Coahoma amid a huge storm that knocked out electrical power, causing the ceremony to be conducted entirely by candlelight. 60 years later, on June 5, 2019, they celebrated all those years together watching a haboob blow into Howard County.

In their 60 years together, they have weathered many storms together, finding refuge in their love and in their faith. They’ve built a life, brick by brick on a solid rock, that can withstand anything the world throws at them, and that life looks as good today as it did when they laid that first brick 60 years ago.
