• The Big Spring Symphony Orchestra will present an evening of Beethoven February 8 in the Big Spring Municipal Auditorium. The evening will be a celebration of the composer’s 250th birthday. Guest conductor John Giordano is returning to Big Spring to conduct the orchestra for this significant event. Soprano Nicole Keeling will be the featured soloist. She’s a native of the South Plains of Texas and earned advanced music degrees from the University of Oklahoma. She has appeared in several operas and is a recent district winner in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Doors open at 6:30 and the performance begins at 7:30 February 8. Ticket outlets include HEB, the Karat Patch, Heritage Museum and Chamber of Commerce.
