Big Spring 7th/8th Grade Volleyball highlights

This past week the 7th and 8th Grade volleyball teams took to the court. A few highlights from their games are below:

7th Grade A Team:

The 7th Grade A Team won in three sets, 25-14, 15-25, and 25-17. Laneigh Rushing, Milly Owens, and Caitlyn Morales contribute­d a combined 26 aced serves. Izabella Hilario, Caliana Moreno, and Chelsea Robertson played consistent defense. Bre Woodruff transition­ed well and added several digs and assists.

7th Grade B Team:

The 7th Grade B Team took care of business in two sets, 25-13 and 25-22. Abby Hilario, Reegan Thompson, and Zoe Cigarroa shined on defense while Bella Rios, Abigail Diaz, and Lynzi Arrieta led the Team on offense. Jaylee Gonzales made 14 aced serves this game. Great Job Lady Steers Coach Smith and Barbee are proud of the work you have been putting in.

8th Grade A Team:

The 8th Grade A Team lost in two sets. They battled in the first set but came up short 25-27, and lost the second set 5-25. Standout players of the game are Jaycee Smith with aced serves; Niomi Wines with Kills at the net; Addi Arguello and Chloe Deanda with a kill at the net.

8th Grade B Team:

The 8th Grade B Team battled but lost to Snyder in three sets, with a 25-20 win in the first set. However, we fell in the last two sets 11-25 and 19-25. The Lady Steers really fought hard this game. Players of the game are Zaida Ybarra with 15 aced serves and Nevaeh Morris, Karisma Cepeda, and Alyssa Doll with great back row defense. The girls will continue to work hard and improve.

The Lady Steers will host Levelland in their last home last home game of the season on Thursday, Oct. 22.
