Howard College Trustees meet Monday to discuss organizati­onal changes

The Howard College Board of Trustees will convene for a regular meeting Monday at 12:30 p.m. inside the Fireplace Room at the Student Union building. An executive session will take place at 11:15 a.m. before the open session begins, and Trustees will discuss organizati­onal changes. After the meeting is opened with the invocation and recognitio­n of guests there will be a moment for communicat­ion to the board. Citizens wanting to address the trustees are welcome to do so.

Dr. Cheryl Sparks will provide the Covid-19 response status report #7 along with the Open Howard College update at the beginning of the meeting. Informatio­n will also be provided on the Athletic Fields on the Big Spring Campus and other updates regarding the Lamesa, San Angelo and SWCD campuses.

The Trustees will hear performanc­e measures and outcomes including operationa­l indicators which will be reported through the small class reports. The financial indicators and student success indicators will be reviewed through Texas Higher Education Coordinati­ng Board Almanac and the Quality Enhancemen­t Plan Annual Report.

As part of the monitoring reports, an update will be provided on coliseum chiller request for proposal along with discussion on hail damage repair or replacemen­t request for proposal. Grant funding for blackboard outcomes modules will also be discussed. The trustees will also discuss handbook and catalog changes.

Dr. Cheryl Sparks will report on upcoming activities and recognitio­ns as part of the President’s Report.
