For seven years, Dazzling Decor has provided Howard County with unique and customizable home décor and gifts. Dazzling Decor offers a variety of items for its customers that make the best gifts for your home or a loved one.

Several years ago, Dazzling Decor’s owner Genia Phillips had a dream of creating a home décor shop that was filled with items she would enjoy herself. After deciding to take the leap and leave her day job, and with the help of her loving husband Marcus Phillips, Dazzling Decor was created.

“I had always said as we were shopping, I wish I had a store like this to shop at,” Owner of Dazzling Decor Genia Phillips said. “My husband mentioned to me, if I really wanted to open a store, I could quit my job and he would make it happen. So here we are now.”

Dazzling Decor carries several different lines such as Jon Hart, Consuela, Vera Bradley, Mudpie, Scentchips, Corkcicle, Mariana, Ronaldo, and P Graham Dunn. If you were to take a stroll inside, you would find items such as handbags, luggage, kitchen serving pieces, candles, scent warmers, drink ware, jewelry, home décor pieces, and towels. Complimentary gift wrapping is also available with any purchase.

Phillips even noted that Dazzling Decor owns a laser that is able to personalize an array of items such as pictures for walls, picture frames, pens, cups, notebooks, keychains, cutting boards, and Corkcicle cups and Yetis.

Dazzling Decor can also print custom personalized notecards, pens, drink ware, and invitations for any occasion.

If you’re shopping for others - or have a special event coming up - bridal, wedding, and baby registries are also available for your friends and family to shop at Dazzling Decor for you.

When the coronavirus sent small businesses everywhere into lockdown for several months, Dazzling Decor – like many other local businesses – struggled to make ends meet. However, Howard County stayed strong and put more effort than ever into helping their small and local businesses keep their doors open.

“I really think most people were trying their best to help all local businesses stay afloat,” Phillips said. “I had people ask if they could get gift cards even though the doors weren’t open, just so they could support us and would use it once we were open again.”

Phillips also mentions that customers from all across the community would call in orders and use their curbside delivery service to help keep the store alive during a time full of uncertainty. Dazzling Decor also offered private shopping for individuals who asked and began to advertise their items on Facebook for customers to order online.

“I’m loving the business and really appreciate all my customers,” she said. “I enjoy getting to meet and know new people and serve Big Spring.”

Dazzling Decor has proven that it can withstand hard and heavy times with help from the community. Adjusting to everyday changes, making ends meet where they need to, and keeping the doors open - Dazzling Decor has continued to make it past every obstacle. Phillips noted that since the small lift of the shutdowns, business has begun to pick up again.

“We’ve had lots of new customers that have never been in before. I think more people are shopping local to keep from going out of town,” Phillips said. “We hope everyone that has come in will continue to see what all we have to offer and will continue to shop local.”

Dazzling Decor is located at 1304 Scurry Street. Store hours are currently Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Contact 432-264-6000 for any questions.
