Are you new to Big Spring and looking to learn more about your new community? The Big Spring Area Chamber of Commerce has just the thing for you - Leadership Big Spring! While the Leadership Big Spring class was not able to form this past year, due to the current state of the pandemic, the hope is to bring back the Leadership Big Spring class this year, or at the latest next year.
"This is just to have newcomers that are showing leadership in your business... it introduces them to Big Spring," said Chamber Director Debbye Valverde. "This is just a good way for people to learn more about our community, and maybe after they go through Leadership, to get involved in any of the community organizations that we have."
The class size limited, so get your application in early, Valverde said.
"We are anticipating another successful year," she said. "Employers, if you have new employees or administration personnel new to the community, this would be a good program for them to learn more about Big Spring and Howard County and get involved. This not only benefits the participants, but also the business that sponsors them. That employee will be promoting your business and will get involved in the different organizations in the coming year and will keep your business informed as to what is going on in the community and how you as a business can get involved."
Participants must be willing to commit to one full day – the second Thursday – each month for nine months.
