Theresa Winn, 76 of Big Spring, formerly of Midland, went to her Heavenly home on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021. Family will receive friends at Myers & Smith Funeral Home on Friday, March 19, 2021 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Funeral service will be at Myers & Smith Chapel on Friday, March 19, 2021, at 2 p.m. with Brad Daniels officiating.

Theresa was born on Aug. 3, 1944 in Big Spring, Texas to Jean and Frank Kapla. She graduated from Rancho High School in Las Vegas, NV in 1962 and earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Social Work from UTPB in 1991. She enjoyed a 25-year, successful career and labor of love at Manor Park and Helen Greathouse Manor, where she devoted herself to the care of the residents and to her colleagues and friends.

Theresa was a natural storyteller and performer. She delighted in the art of telling a corny joke and showed her love for friends, family and co-workers through the original songs and poems she composed especially for them. During her time at Manor Park, she wrote skits and other performance pieces for the entertainment of staff and residents, and she combined her love of cats with performing arts to create her clown persona, Miss Kitty.

She was a woman of Baptist faith and of service to others. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends, but above all her most priceless treasure was her family.

Left to cherish Theresa’s memory are her children: Wanda Mcdaniel Metcalf and husband John Wayne of Coahoma, Thom Mcdaniel and husband Lance Menster of Houston, Robyn Mcdaniel of Houston, and Steve Mcdaniel and wife Lois of Forsan. Missing their precious Theresa Granny are Keira Creswell of Midland, Regan Creswell and wife Jenna of Lubbock, Morgan Mcdaniel of Lubbock, Seth Mcdaniel of Enid, OK, and Mary Ashley Mcdaniel of Ft. Worth. Caden Creswell of Midland will forever treasure the memory of his GG. Theresa is also survived by her brother, David Yeater of Katy, TX, her dearest friend, Chris Newman of Midland, and her cats, Clarice and Tabitha.

She is reunited in Heaven with her beloved partner, David Johnson, her mother and stepfather, Jean and Ralph Fidler,

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Camp Hope, Trinity Baptist Church Mission Fund, ASPCA or the American Diabetes Association.
