Pete Gillette, 81, of Sand Springs died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Myers & Smith Chapel with Pastor Doug Shelley officiatin­g. Burial will be at Trinity Memorial Park.

Pete was born on Sept. 11, 1939, in Red Bay, Alabama, to Ace and Beatrice Gillette.

He married Linda Bledsoe in Big Spring on May 9, 1997. He spent most of life in Howard County. He was a carpenter, but he also worked at Western Container for a number of years. Pete could fix anything. He had a passion for building from scratch or remodeling. He loved building furniture, playing the guitar, and singing.

Pete is survived by his wife, Linda Gillette of Sand Springs; four children, Pete Gillette Jr. and wife, Barbara, of Big Spring, Sherry Gillette of Big Spring, Heather Friday of Big Spring, and Jimmy Bledsoe Jr. of Big Spring; four sisters, Alma Evans of Louisiana, Penny Tims of Alabama, Wanda Nelson of Weatherfor­d, and Sandra Norwood of Colorado City; nine grandchild­ren, Amber Madsen (Chris Nelson), Shawna Malarski (Joseph), Floyd Tumey, Rachel Hodges, Sarah Hodges, Karen Hodges, Tyler Bledsoe, Kyle Wells, and Daniel Friday; two great-grandchild­ren, Dallis Broughton and Cheyene Broughton. We will always cherish the memories we had with you. We love and miss you until we are all together again.

In addition to Pete’s parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Phillips Gillette; Helen Dwan Gillette and one brother; Wayne Gillette.

Pallbearer­s will be: Johnny King, Kyle Wells, Anthony Lozano, Lane Woods, Flint Rye, Vance Gaston.
