Robert Cruz, 58, of Midland, formerly of Big Spring, went to Heaven on Feb. 16, 2022. Visitation will be 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday with a vigil service at 7 p.m. at Myers & Smith Chapel. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday at Myers 7 Smith Chapel.

Robert on was born on Jan. 8, 1964, in Big Spring to Martina Cruz Valle. He grew up in Big Spring but had been living in Midland for the past 16 years.

Robert loved the Las Vegas Raiders, watching westerns & playing bingo. He was a big wrestling fan. He was a strong, quiet man who was always there for his family, and they were always together. He would do anything for his family.

Robert will be very much missed. He was a big joker, always bringing a smile to others.

Robert is survived by his wife: Carmelta Palomarez; 2 step sons: Charles Palomarez & Michael Palomarez (Naomi); very special fury friend pee wee; He is also survived by three half sisters & 3 half brothers: Rose Mary (Eddie), Terry, Anita (Jerry), Joe (Leo), Julian (Celeste), Danny (Joann); 5 uncles: Juan (Elana) Frank (Lucy), David (Cruz), Tomas (Linda) & Jesse (Sue) and seven aunts: Maria (Amado, Jr.) Margret (Lencho), Hermia, Lupe, Elida, Anna (Denis), Lydia (Ernie), sister in law: Soila; and many nieces, nephews & cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother: Martina; his grandparen­ts: Felipe Cruz, Sr., and Francisca Cruz; 2 uncles: Felipe & Jose; aunt & godmother & godfather: Delphina & Alfonso Cortez.
