Newman offers pro-life message at Life Center event

- By LACHELLE COBB

On Tuesday, Dr. Marc Newman was guest speaker at an event for The Life Center.

Dr. Newman is a very demanding communication trainer, pro-life apologist, banquet speaker and author of a new book, Contenders: A Church-wide Strategy to Unmask Abortion, Defeat Its Advocates, Empower Christians, and Change the World.

He is the president of Speaker For Life, which is a training firm which trains pro-life advocates nationwide with public speaking skills; as well as the CEO of Speechramp, a company working to change the way colleges and universities teach public speaking.

Marc is the former Director Of Speech and Debate at the University of California at Irvine, and taught the doctoral program in the School of Communication and the Arts at Regent University. He has appeared in Time magazine and Fox News.

His book Contenders suggests a relationship between philosophy, church, and practicality for those who want to begin or readjust their strategy to further pro-life. Marc says he only provides “straightforward, compelling, and persuasive arguments.” He states his writing is “well researched,” and wants to show people how we can play a unique and vital role in creating a seismic societal shift toward life. Newman says abortion only exists with consent of a sleeping church. Contenders' goal is to

provide readers with intellectual ammunition to rebut arguments of those who would justify abortion.

According to Newman, there have been more than 60 million abortions in the United State since 1973. He supports The Life Center, whose professionals work to respect you, your body, and your choices. The Life Center offers information on a variety of subjects, including pregnancy symptoms, abortion, adoption, parenting, STI/STDS, and sexual health.
