Hi, my name is Dobby! Adopt me, bring me a sock, and watch how free I will be.

I'm a sweet, loveable pup who has the biggest personality you've ever seen. Manners go out the window when the excitement hits, but I am still a pup. With a little bit of patience and some grace, the memories we can make are endless. I have the cutest ears in the world; some have said I closely resemble a certain helpful elf from Harry Potter. Along with my ears, my eyes shine with the glimmer of affection. Look how cute I am; how could anyone resist? If you'd like to adopt me, you can go to: http://www. mybigspring.com/491/adoptable-animals-photogallery or send an email to ac@bigspringpd.net and ask for Dobby. If you want to meet me and see if I'd be a good addition to your family, you can foster by going to the big spring animal shelter!

Hello! My name is Jojo! I am a young, energetic dog. I'm playful and I love treats. I have enjoyed my time at the Big Spring Animal Shelter, but I'm ready for a loving home. I weigh 28 pounds which means I make for the perfect cuddle buddy.

I am ready to shower my new owner with love, but I have to admit, I want to be the center of attention. My perfect family would be one where I'm the center of the show.

Adopt me today by going to ac@bigspringpd.net or by contacting 432-264-2372. I'm waiting patiently for my new family to take me to my forever home today!

My name is Rosie.

I weigh 40 pounds, and I am around 8 months old which means I'm still a pup with time to grow. I have brown eyes, brown fur, and I am sweet. I may not know any tricks just yet, but I am willing and ready to learn. I love to play with my toys, and tend to be shy around new people, but just give me a little bit and I will warm up to you and could be your best friend. I may be a pup, but I enjoy a hug. (I might even surprise you, and try to cuddle with you on a lazy day.) I do not like to be outside in the cold. (Who does really?) Oh, did I mention that I've been spayed!

To find out more about me or to set up a visit, call (432)-264-2372 and come down to the Big Spring Animal Shelter.

Dogs are often considered man's best friend. This is certainly accurate in Darla's case. For that family who is looking for the “missing piece” the search is over.

“I'm ready to head out for a morning jog or a day of playing in the backyard. While I'm ready to get out and play, I know how to listen when you say a command. Together we can have some fun, but I know when play time is over and it's time to listen.”

Darla is a friend to all and is ready to share her love with your family. She is a young, mediumsized, female Rottweiler-mix. She will certainly prove to be the perfect best friend. Training will be an easier task as Darla responds well to commands. She is one of the recently spayed dogs which makes the process of welcoming her to the family even easier. If you are on the lookout for a happy and sweet best friend, Darla is the perfect fit for you and your family. To find out more about adopting Darla, send an email to ac@bigspringpd.net or call the Big Spring Animal Shelter at 432-264-2372. The animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Mack is the perfect friend for you. “Making friends is easy for me, making me a good fit for your family. I'm responsive to commands, and am ready to learn some new tricks.”

If you're in need of more adventure in your life, Mack's curious, playful, and energetic personality would suit your needs perfectly. Mack's loyalty is one of his best characteristics. He'll never leave your side and will instantly claim you as his own, making him as loyal as loyal can be. While he loves playing around, he wouldn't hurt a fly. Balance is key, and Mack's playful, yet gentle personality definitely agrees.

To find out more about adopting Mack, send an email to ac@bigspringpd.net or call the Big Spring Animal Shelter at 432-264-2372. The animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

In Greek mythology Atlas is said to hold the world on his shoulders. That description is one that suits Atlas - a 2-year-old pup - very well.

His sheer size can be intimidating at first, but one look into his eyes and the love and affection he has to offer is unable to be ignored. If you are looking for a companion that offers that perfect balance, Atlas is the dog you have been searching for.

“I'm a gentle giant that will protect my family. I may take some time to warm up to you, but with your patience we will be able to take on the world.”

To find out more about adopting Atlas, send an email to ac@bigspringpd.net or call the Big Spring Animal Shelter at 432-264-2372. The animal shelter is open to the public Monday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

This sweet boy is ready to play! Bruno is a very sweet and lovable dog.

Hi! My name is Bruno, I am a young, German Shepherd, male puppy who is looking for a home. I am also looking for an owner who will love to take selfies with me because I have been told I'm photogenic. Not to brag on myself, but I am also very well-mannered and I can tolerate a leash, matter of fact, I love walks and could run all day.

If you are looking for a pretty Shepard that loves people, I'm ready for a new home.

If interested in adopting me, call the Big Spring Animal Shelter at 264-2372.

Hi! My name is Spencer! I'm a shepherd/husky puppy mix. I am looking for a safe, caring home. I'm a bit shy, but once I get to know you, I'm very friendly. I'm very food driven and I LOVE treats. I'd enjoy a home that allows me to be the center of attention. What can I say, I enjoy the attention, and sometimes need a little extra love.

I'm observant and a great listener. My perfect day is one where I can just lay around, relax, and let the clouds pass by.

Adopt your new best friend today by going to ac@ bigspring.net or by contacting 432-264-2372.

Hi my name is Luna and I''m looking for a friend who loves cuddles just as much as I do. I'm a little under a year old. I love to run and play with others, but I'm way more interested in the people around me than my toys. I love treats and belly rubs. I'm so ready to start our new adventure; I'm waiting anxiously to meet you.

Luna is great to be around, she matches your energy and loves new people. If you are looking for a new running partner, someone to get outdoors with, or just a companion to join in on your adventures, Luna is the perfect match.

To find out more about Luna or to meet her, stop by the Big Spring Animal Shelter between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. You can call, 432-264-2372 to start the adoption process.

Forsan Journalism Students visited the Big spring Animal Shelter as part of a local partnership, in efforts to help in the adoption process of the dogs. Students spent some time receiving knowledge from the Animal Shelter staff and City Staff, photographing the dogs and then produced write ups highlighting each of the dogs.

The write ups will be posted on the city website and shared on the city social media page.
