BSHA board meeting scheduled Monday

After no board members attended the Big Spring Housing Authority board of commission­ers meeting called this past Wednesday, another meeting has been called Monday at 6 p.m.

The meeting will not be located at the BSHA'S dilapidate­d offices at 1311 West Fourth Street, but at Canterbury Apartments, 1700 S. Lancaster.

Following the meeting's roll call and public comment, the commission­ers will consider New Business including recognitio­n of new commission­ers, and election and action of approval of the board's new chairperso­n and vice chairperso­n.

Board members will discuss a resolution on moving the Hcv/section 8 program to Abilene Housing Authority in Abilene.

The board will also discuss approval and signing of the engagement letter for the upcoming audit by David A. Boring CPA.

The agenda also includes discussion and possible action on

relocating the Big Spring Housing Authority office.

Other items on the agenda include possible approval of adding Commission­er John Scott to the general checking account and deposit assistance account at State National Bank, and setting the date and time and location of future BSHA board meetings for the third Tuesday of each month.

The board will meet in closed session to discuss personnel matters, including hiring Sharon Fritz as permanent director of the BSHA.

The meeting is open to the public.
