“The Doors” (EPIX, Sunday, May 22): Val Kilmer’s uncanny resemblance to, and portrayal of, lead singer Jim Morrison is invaluable to director Oliver Stone’s 1991 portrait of the seminal 1960s rock band legendary for doing things their own way ... as with an appearance on “The Ed Sullivan Show,” which is restaged here. Kyle Maclachlan, Frank Whaley and Kevin Dillon play other members of the group, with Meg Ryan as Morrison’s longtime love.

“Buck Rogers in the 25th Century” (METV, Sunday, May 22): A ridiculously enjoyable early episode of the series, “Vegas in Space” takes Buck (Gil Gerard) to a casino in the cosmos, where he searches for the kidnapped daughter (Ana Alicia) of a smuggler (Cesar Romero, who memorably prowled the actual Las Vegas in the original “Ocean’s Eleven”). Also in the guest cast is stage and screen veteran Joseph Wiseman, who was James Bond’s first movie enemy, “Dr. No.”
