Get your Halloween face on early with the help of Discovery Networks

-

It’s never too early to start celebrating Halloween, especially if you go by retail advertising and the decorations in store windows. And there’s plenty to watch on TV these days as well, particularly if you’re a fan of Discovery Network programming.

One of their more interesting selections is the recently premiered “Haunted Scotland” on discovery+. In this 10-episode series, American medium Chris Fleming and Scottish TV personality Gail Porter lead a team of paranormal investigators to iconic landmarks throughout the country to probe supernatural mysteries and try to contact spirits in an effort to explain them.

Another new offering is “Eli Roth Presents: My Possessed Pet,” premiering Friday, Sept. 30, on Travel Channel and discovery+. Here, the “Inglourious Basterds” actor, horror movie enthusiast and filmmaker explores the true and tragic stories of what happens when evil entities and curses take over trusted family pets and turn them

against their frightened owners.

If you’re familiar with the story of Robert the Doll, the new special “Shock Doc – The Curse of Robert the Doll” may be for you. Premiering Friday on Travel and discovery+, the two-hour documentary explores the legend behind the doll that resides in a glass case in a Key West, Fla., museum, and is thought to be responsible for the illnesses, injuries, accidents and even deaths suffered by those who failed to follow its “rules,” which include introducing oneself, no photographs without first asking permission and saying a proper goodbye.

Another new special on Thursday, Sept. 29, is “Ghost Adventures: Devil’s Den” on Travel and discovery+. Here, the series’ resident ghost hunters Zak Bagans, Aaron Goodwin, Jay Wasley and Billy Tolley head to Downey, Calif., to investigate Los Padrinos Juvenile Detention Center, a shuttered facility given the ominous designation of “Devil’s Den” by guards and inmates –

and not just for its horrors of detention.
