Commission­ers to consider Coahoma office windows

Howard County Commission­ers will consider approving a requisitio­n for windows at the county's Coahoma office, according to the agenda of Tuesday's Commission­ers' Court meeting. The commission­ers will meet at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday instead of their regular Monday meeting time due to the Columbus Day holiday. The meeting will take place in the second floor Judge's Conference Room rather than the third floor courtroom, but remains open to members of the public as usual.

At the start of the meeting, County Judge Kathryn Wiseman will present an item regarding the Indigent Defense Grant Program and another on Adoption Day and the use of an alterna- tive courtroom for Adoption Day.

Judge Wiseman will also accept monthly reports from county officials.

County Treasurer Sharon Adams will present personnel considerat­ions and her Treasurer's Monthly Payroll Report for September.

County Auditor Jackie Olson will present invoices, purchase requests and budget amendments; as well as the requisitio­n for windows at the Coahoma office mentioned previously. Olson will also present an item regarding approval of early pay invoices, and another seeking permission to go out for fuel bids. Howard County Emergency Management Coordinato­r Itzel Gomez will present a Fire Safety Plan and Hazard Mitigation Plan for commission­ers' approval.

County Sheriff Stan Parker will present a resolution regarding the Bullet Resistant Shield Grant Program.

County Detentions Communicat­ions Chief Irene Buchanan will present an item regarding sick pool for employees. Precinct 1 Commission­er Eddilisa Ray will present an item regarding a subdivisio­n in Precinct 1.

Precinct 2 Commission­er Craig Bailey will present an item regarding the countywide ban on burning. County Road Engineer Brian Klinksiek will present his regular Roadway Maintenanc­e Update, as well as items regarding purchase of a new County Road & Bridge pickup truck, second reading on naming a private road in Precinct 1 “Mule Deer Lane” and seeking permission to go out for bids to invert prime Wildfire Road.

County Clerk Brent Zitterkopf will present his monthly report for September and his 2021-22 yearly reports. Following Zitterkopf's reports, the meeting will be adjourned.
